Hi,

I have Atmel Studio 7.0 installed and working. No other Visual studio installation on this computer.

I have downloaded the Visual.Micro.Atmel.Studio.vsix, but when I launch the install, I have an error about X509Certificates

I tried to use the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\Common7\IDE" version of VSIXInstaller, but that not help.

I add a screenshoot of the error, and the log :

Hi,

I don't have any control over how the vsix files work. The VSIX system works with Microsoft and Atmel but Visual Micro has no control over it.

Unless you have a specific reason to use atmel studio I would stick with Visual Studio 2013 or 2015 which do not suffer from the multitude of bugs and shortfalls that are apparent in Atmel Studio.

Sorry I can't be more help

If you install vs2015 with C++ I bet that fixes the VSIX installer system and then the Atmel install will work Smiley

Both can be installed on the same machine so it's up to you.

For others reading this post who would like to try the AS7 beta of Visual Micro I found a discussion about this problem on Microsoft Connect.

It appears to relate to an issue with the underlying VS2015 installation. Does not relate to any Visual Micro component.

hi ,https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.security.cryptography.x509certif... this url maybe suggest that if you install .net framework above version 4.6 can solve this problem. Quote:
For apps that target the .NET Framework 4.5.2 and earlier versions, the X509Chain class does not implement the IDisposable interface and therefore does not have a Dispose method.
Smiley pls ignore my poor english.

For atmel you need to install using tools>extensions and updates from inside the IDE.

Does this work?
