On opening VS/VM to work on an Arduino project I received the attached error message dialog.

What does all that mean?
What effect will it have on my Arduino programming?

That is a VS message that usually means you already have the project open in another instance.

Hi Tim

I rebooted and the problem has not recurred.  VS/vM seems to throw a bit of a tantrum now an then.

Honestly that was a vs message that happens when the project is locked and in use.

How does that happen when you are just starting up for the day?

Whichever software did it, it smacks of temperamental to me!  Cheesy

I use all the vs ides at the same time, have done for years and never hit the issue so it's something related to your install I guess.

I know a lot of other people using the software and over 6 years the two other reports have been due to the ide open twice by mistake.

That's all I can say. If it happens again look i task manager for devenv.exe processes.

I tried to open VS and it stalled.  I closed it and started it again straight away.  That's when I got the little love-letter.  Did I start it again too fast?  Then again, I might have accidentally double-clicked the start.

Probably was still shutting down but relates to the intellisense database that is unique for each project. So project was open twice (sort of).
