Install Visual Micro without Arduino IDE => No examples....

Hi.

I have installed the latest version of Visual Micro. According to the Installation Guide, I do not need to have the Arduino IDE installed.

However, I have no examples, and the Visual Micro asks for a valid IDE location? See attache image.

Hi,

I have changed the subject of this post to "without Arduino IDE" instead of "With Arduino IDE". I think the subject of the post more accurately describes the configuration you have selected.

The new Visual Micro (No IDE) option means using Visual Micro without an Arduino IDE backend.  In this case you would download and hardware and libraries using Board Manager and Library Manager. Until you have done that there can be no examples and no boards.

If you don't know about Board and Library manager then you should configure the location of an Arduino IDE.

The examples are gathered from various locations. Some are installed with ide, some with hardware and some with libraries. You appear to have none installed  Smiley

Please drop down the Ide list, select Arduino 1.16/1.8 and set the location.
