Hello,

After a system crash, VisualStudio 2015 and AtmelStudio7 are running but VisualMicro is no longer present.

When try to reinstall Message: all programs are properly installed.

Remove with

/resetaddin Visual.Micro.Visual.Studio.Arduino.Helper
or
/resetaddin Visual.Micro.Visual.Studio.Arduino.Helper

does not work.

Error: Invalid command line. Unknown switch: resetaddin. /resetaddin is not a valid option

How can I completely remove Visual Micro to be able to reinstall it?

regards

Knut

Hi

The older version of visual micro for VS2010 and AS6.2 was an "Addin". For VS2013 and above we use an extension so the commands you tried are not valid.

Extensions can be installed and uninstalled from inside the IDE "tools>extensions and updates".

There is a conflict between Microsoft and Atmel, both use the same installer and only one wins! So you get a message saying it can't find an IDE to install too.

This issue does NOT happen if you install from within each IDE using "tools>extensions and updates". In that case each IDE will do the right thing.

Hello Tim,

thanks for your support.

In visualstudio this works perfectly.

In AtmelStudio I find no way to deinstallation. I found the Window to install and uninstall extensions.

Arduino IDE vor AtmelStudio marked as installed. But in contrast to Visualstudio is here no uninstall button.

And under Menueoption <Installed> nothing is shown.

best regards

Knut

Hi,

I am a little confused. Hopefully you are talking about atmel studio 7 and not 6.2?

In Atmel Studio 7 open "tools>extensions and updates"

Then click the Online tab

Then search in the list for Arduino IDE for Atmel Studio

Then click Install.

Does this make sense or am I missing something?

More info

There is a different gallery for the atmel version of visual micro. The procedure mentioned above installs the correct version of Visual Micro from the correct location.

Thanks

Yes it is Atmel Studio 7.0.1417. In the About Dialog "Arduino IDE for Atmel Studio 7 1705.1.0" is shown.

Under Tools Extensions and Updates "Arduino IDE is marked as installed. And there is no button to uninstall.

I am not allowed to send images. So I can't send a screenshoot.

Hello Tim,

I could solve that.

I changed the IDE language to English and the button became visible. When I switch back to German as an IDE language, the buttons disappear again.

Thanks for your support!

Thanks for the update. Uggh, I didn't know atmel worked that way.

I guess we will have to try to add some language capabilities.

Maybe it's time to stop updating the free versions and hire some help  Smiley
