I'm also getting this, in my case a couple of ';' expected in file espduino.h, which is fine in the Arduino IDE.

I've tried:
Delete this folder and restart the ide

C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Local\arduino15\packages\arduino

I'm using VS2017 Pro version 15.2 (26430.12), Arduino 1.8.3, and VM 1705.8.0.

Thanks,
Jim

The Arduino IDE does not have intellisense so can we assume this is a build error?

If not please say which board you are using.

The vs intellisense isn't always perfect for gcc so you can also set the intellisense errors list to "open/active files/documents" which will exclude the underlying core from showing errors.

Thanks
