Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Unable to Update VS2015 to 1706.25.3

VS shows this update is available in Extension and Updates but clicking the update give "The remote server returned an error (500) Internal Server Error".

I got the error on a couple of systems:

VS2017 Enterprise on W10 x64 - OK
VS2015 Pro on W10 32 bit - Server 500 Error
VS2013 Premium on W8.1 x64 - Server 500 Error

Sorry for the delay

Some info to help us track this.

The .vsix that visual micro provides as an extension is actually just a simple zip file. The Visual Studio Gallery is responsible for downloading, unpacking and registering the extension.

The .vsix is also available in the web page view of the gallery.

Questions:-

1) Do other extensions install okay?
2) Does installing from the gallery web page view also fail?

Thanks again for the post. I replicated the issue by uninstalling and attempting to reinstall.

Seemed like an internal ms issue.

A new .4 release has been upload which appears to rectify the issue. Hope so for you too.

From the marketplace I was able to download the extension and install, though it was for the .25.4 version.

The "extensions and tools" updater was trying to update to the .25.3 version.

Great. Yes tools>extensions and updates can take a while, it seems to cache for time.

I tried again this morning and it went through without any problem.  This time it was version 1706.25.5.
