Title: ESP8266, settings oddity
Post by rmathis on Oct 2nd, 2015 at 1:29pm
After opening an Arduino Uno project and changing settings to use a programmer, then closing the project, and opening an ESP8266 project--NOTE: not creating a new ESP8266 project, just opening one previously created.--The programmer settings are now applied to the ESP8266 project and you have to uncheck the use programmer menu. IMHO, this and other project dependent settings should not persists between different projects, they should be contextual to the individual solution.
And to be certain, there are other settings that cause the same hangups when switching between solutions.
I see these settings causing other NOOBS, like myself, issues while googling for answers.

Hi, the programmer setting is currently global for the Ide not per project

Other newbies have problem because they think they have to use the programmer but for nearly all boards we do not use a programmer we just use std usb. So normally the programmer is not required.
