Title: VisualMicro and C++17 ( AVR-GCC 8.x)

Hello, does anyone know how to upgrade VisualMicro to be able to use latest C++ compiler?
I tried some builds made by Zak Kemble (Win7_32 and Win10_64) from http://blog.zakkemble.co.uk/avr-gcc-builds/ but was getting compiler errors: ".../ar.exe: unable to rename ...core.a' ; reason: File exists"
Thank you!

The question needs to be directed to the author of whichever board/core you have chosen.

The build instructions for each board are in files that are defined by the arduino.cc 3rd party hardware standard.

Visual Micro just reads the instructions and then runs whichever compiler is stated in the instructions.

The files in the cores that affect this are boards.txt and platform.txt
