Title: Couldn't install Adafruit 1NA219 Library using Explorer
Post by FrankP on May 25th, 2019 at 2:14pm
VM version 1.1903.24

I was trying to install the Adafruit 1NA219 library via the VM Explorer dialog, but ran into the following problems:

- Searches for '1N', '1NA', '1NA219', and 'Adafruit 1N', etc all failed, even though the 'Adafruit 1NA219' library is clearly visible in the list.  Any reason for this (it also failed in the Arduino IDE, so it could be an IDE problem)

- I couldn't get the library to install by any combination of left and/or right clicks on the library label, once I found it.  To actually install the library, I had to launch the Arduino IDE and select 'Install' on the 'Adafruit 1NA219' line, and this worked properly.

Am I missing something?

TIA,

Frank

We will look at it.The Adafruit guys build with linux and the resulting zip file can be very complex. We use SharpZipLib for extracts,We will see if there is an update for the next release.

Installing a library is just a matter of unpacking the zip into document\arduino\libraries so you can always do it manually from git or as you say in arduino ide.

I can't see the  1NA219 in library manager. Did you install using library manager or from a zip you downloaded from the web. If a zip then please give url.

Thanks for the report.

Tim,

It's there (see attached image) - 'INA219 by Adafruit'.  Note that the '1' in the actual product has been changed to an 'I', so that's probably the reason the search function didn't work.

Thanks, it installed okay for me. Maybe you just needed to click Re-scan after installing via Lib Manager

Tim,

I'm pretty sure I clicked on 'Rescan' after attempting to install, but maybe not ;-)
