Title: customization of Serial Monitor font
Post by octalduino on Jun 6th, 2019 at 1:32pm
Hello,
it would be very useful to give the capability to customize the SerialMonitor display font. Most of the time we need a non-proportional (fixed space) font, to make it easy to ready data in columns.

Thank for sharing all your work.
Regards

Hi, you can change the font.

There is a little overflow icon at the far right of the serial monitor status bar or make the serial monitor wider, then you will see the font setting.

Oh my bad, I didn't saw it. Sincerely sorry. It's perfect.
I discovered and installed VisualMicro today, mainly to do some ESP8285 developments in AtmelStudio, and I'm really loving it. You have done a great work guys.
If I continue using it these days, I'll buy a full license. Really it desserve to be supported by more users.

Going to tweet about it right now on my account @pocketmt

Brilliant thanks. If you find time to leave a 5 star review in the gallery that would be really great too. Sorry to say 5 stars is the only choice because less stars is simply a minus/black mark. Uggh :)

Sorry, but how can I access the gallery page where to rate it from Atmel Studio? or have I to go to Microsoft/Microchip pages ??? :-?

Oh sorry thanks. Actually atmel studio is just visual studio so please use our main gallery page here https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=VisualMicro.ArduinoIDEforVisualStudio

The atmel gallery ratings are broken so we don't use them anymore for ratings.

You'r welcome.
Well, just a smallish bug in the Serial Port monitor. When I change the font, it works perfectly but on the button in the toolbar, the caption is still "Terminal Font" ;)

The terminal font is only to set the font in the terminal data area. Which button are you referring too? Please show screen image if you can. Thanks

ps: you have to click Reply to attach files, can't attach them using the quick reply at the bottom of this page.

I attached the image. I set the font for the terminal to "CodeSource pro" TTF, and the terminal really use this font, but the button caption is still "Terminal Font". You should rename it "Set Font" .... :)

Oh my bad ... I understand ... by "Terminal Font" you mean "set the font of the terminal", I read it "Terminal Font" as the name of the TTF  Terminal Font so I tought that clicking it means set the font to the font named "Terminal Font"  :-[  ;D  :D

You better use the Windows traditional/conventional naming of such buttons, i.e. "Font ..." (the three points means the button will trigger a window to set the font parameters). This

Haha, that's useful feedback anyway thanks. It's really difficult to see things from other perspectives sometimes :)
