Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Serial monitor icon missing in VS2008

I notice that even on the website the serial toolbar in  VS2008 is missing the icon for the monitor.

Can this be fixed?

I only realised there was a serial monitor button after I clicked it accidentally.

Yes, there are a few notes about 2008 icons missing splashed around the main site and codeplex.

The problem with 2008 addins is that they require a seperate dll with icons for each language and each dll has to be registered to the main addin.dll. This makes it much more difficult to create a cross platform international version with icons. In 2010 we can simply add the icons to the addin.dll and they just work.

The icons for 2008 are on the dev list but vs 2011 might end up taking all available free time.

did you have to run a resetaddin to see the ones on the tool bar?

I don't know. I ran a reset addin immediately after the install, just in case it was going to cause any issues.

I'll let you know what happens when I upgrade my other laptop.
