VS Arduino - Serial Monitor doesn't start

Serial Monitor doesn't start (Read 4222 times)

	with VS 2012 and the latest download of Visual Micro I am having trouble with the Serial Monitor. 1. Run StringAppendOperator.ino from the Arduino IDE - Monitor starts fine by itself. 2. Open a new Arduino project and do copy / past from Arduino IDE of same sketch. 3. Compiles and loads fine but does not start. 4. Reset the Ethernet Arduino board by hand and then it runs.

	Do you mean that the serial monitor opens but expected data from the arduino is not shown? What if you switch on the Dtr checkbox?

	Yes - setting Data Terminal Ready (DTR) allows it to work correctly. Thanks....... Jim
