First Build and Upload errors out with "Couldn't determine program size"

After freshly restarting VS 2012, the first build and upload attempt fails out with "Couldn't determine program size ....".  Simply clicking "Debug F5" a second time works correctly and the problem does not recur until the next VS cold start.

Latest VM/DT
Visual Studio 2012 on Windows 7.

I believe this also happened with VS 2008.

Thanks, I'll try to replicate.

Fyi

The "Couldn't determine program size" error should not be displayed, the actual error sounds like some sort of compile failure which means that there is no resulting arduino program.

The vm "get program size" function relies on there being an arduino pogram to determine the size of, hence the error you could see.

Glad it's a one off anyway.
