Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Hi,

First of all great project! For experienced programmer that uses VS since almost prehistoric times it is a salvation!
I wish the upload works.  Sad

So with VS2013 (Update 5) and Arduino.cc 1.6.6 there is no way to make upload working. What I get is only:

Uploading to I/O board using 'USB'
Upload failed
avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\\.\COM1": The system cannot find the file specified.
avrdude: ser_send(): write error: sorry no info avail

I don't have any other COM ports. COM1 is the only one that is available (Arduino is properly recognised on COM1 by IDE). AND, Arduino uploads the build correctly.
My OS is Windows 7, I am running VS2013 Pro as Admin.

To add to the issue, Serial Monitor is working correctly!

I would appreciate your help in this regard as I would like to make a donation for such a great project as soon as uploading works so I don't need to use Arduino IDE just to perform uploading step.

Hi,

When did you install visual micro? what version is shown when you look at "tools>extensions and updates>arduino ide/visual micro"?

I installed it just 2 days ago so I think it is the latest 1511.30.0. I will confirm when I am back home.

Thanks. Sorry it got messed up with the recent asp 8266 network upload changes.

It's fixed now in 1512.2 available in the gallery
