I downloaded Visual Studio 2015 but it stopped working after 30 days.  I uninstalled 2015 and installed VS2013 but I see the same 30 day license status, what gives? Cry

If I recall accurately, it was months ago and on the other side of a triple bypass, a window comes up over the VS startup window and says the license ran out and I can buy VS but closing that window closes VS.

Hi,

Yes you asked a similar question in September http://www.visualmicro.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1447123880/0#0

But on both occasions I thought we were asking about the Visual Micro Pro trial.

I see now you are simply asking about the Microsoft licensing terms.

I am not Microsoft but maybe this will help.

The community edition is free for individuals and small business. Large businesses can also use it free for open source projects.

You can read these published terms at the bottom of this page https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/products/visual-studio-community-vs.aspx

You have not given any information about which version of Visual Studio you have installed. The Help>About will show you this.

Furthermore most of the time the Microsoft screen that appears to inform you the trial has expired has an option to renew the license. When you do that it sorts itself out.

I can only tell you that everyone else is using VS2015 community for free and without issue. After that If you have problems I suggest contacting Microsoft.

Thanks

As far as I can remember, you have to register the Community Edition with a Microsoft account or Windows Live account, then it remains free.
Merry Christmas
