Problem programming Arduino Due with Atmel 6.2 "bossac.exe"

Hello,

i get a "bossac.exe: extra arguments found." message

I have uploaded the Arduino IDE to 1.6.9, i can program the arduino Due, with the Arduino IDE.

Atmel studio correctly programs an Arduino Uno.

I select the correct board (Arduino Due programming port)
in the Atmel studio and the correct serial port.

Any ideas?

Hi John,

Arduino added a verify switch to the 1.6.8 toolchain command. There was an update of visual micro for As6.2 released a few weeks ago that should have contained support for that. Interested to know if you updated visual micro in 6.2 recently?

and you are right the same fix was included in all vm versions from 14th May 2016

Hi,

i had Arduino IDE 1.6.5 so when i added support for the DUE (installed the 1.6.8 version of the Arduino support SAM boards)
the IDE gave me the "bossac.exe: extra arguments found." message. So i updated the IDE to 1.6.9 and it worked straight away.

After i tried to program the DUE board with the Atmel studio 6.2 which i used, i made it to correctly identify the updated IDE and it provide me the option to program the DUE but failed and gave me the "bossac.exe..{}." message.

I then tried to find an updated version of visual micro but i could find an installation file only for the Atmel 7. So i decided to update Atmel Studio to ver 7 , then downloaded visual micro for Atmel 7, applied it, and it worked straight away.

Sorry I wasn't clear.

My question was if you were using the older version of Visual Micro, released prior to Arduino 1.6.9, in Atmel Studio 6.2?

From your answer I think you were using an older version of Visual Micro that you had not updated via the atmel gallery. It's always good practise to update Visual Micro when moving to a newer Arduino IDE

Thanks

Most probably yes. I haven't update it as i remember.

I have stuck with 1.6.5 yesterday i updated Arduino IDE, Atmel Studio and visual micro because i got an Arduino DUE and i wasn't able to program it. Otherwise i don't update very often when my software works.

By the way Visual Micro is great.
