I posted here solution to use ESP-IDF FreeRTOS framework under Visual Studio

https://esp32.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5859

My projects compiled just fine however this must be tested more when it comes to how headers are processed in the solution
Haven't looked at XML settings files yet.

Anyone is welcome to try it)

When a New Project needs to be created - could you maybe try to add option for a 'General Embedded Project' additionally to Arduino Project?

I will look but remember you can add your own items to the New project list.

You should be able to "Save As > Template" on a any project.

VS templates are just small zip files that get placed in known locations.
