Log Files

I have (finally) located the log files, but no new logs have been written in a couple days. I am generating log data right now, but no corresponding log file. Is there a way to turn logging on or off? I am wondering whether the logs somehow got turned off, so if there is a way to turn them back on, that would be quite helpful.

Please review the options at the bottom of the serial monitor. Use the overflow drop down if the monitor has narrow width or make it wider.

For this type of request it is a good idea to explore the window in question or to go to the visualmicro.com web site then click DOCUMENTATION which shows the Visual Micro documentation index. Then look for the window in question which is the Serial Monitor.

Alternatively click you name in the forum and review your history where you will find your post from a few months ago asking how to enable logging.

Tim,

I am quite familiar with the options at the bottom of the Serial window:
  • Connect
    DTR
    RTS
    Auto-Scroll
    Baud Rate
    Auto-Reconnect
    Line Ending
    Clear on Opening
    Clear on Send
    Echo Off

None of these control the creation of the log files.

I have also searched the posts and found only the one where I ask how to turn logging on or off. I searched all posts for "port logging" but came up empty.

Please simply point me to the appropriate documentation or just tell me the answer.

Do you have a Log button top right or the monitor? It is both a toggle button On/Off and has an overflow allowing you to set the logs location
