Visual Studio 2017 Community
Visual Micro 1903.12.1

Tried uninstall and install, enable and disable.
Same issue.

It used to run properly for a few days, now Visual Micro cannot load online libraries list and clicking rescan also pops the same error. Cry

There is also a strange behaviour during uninstallation.
When I finished uninstall, I click on View Install Log.
Instead of showing the install log, it activated my Ardupilot Mission Planner software, which is totally wrong...

1)
Thanks for the post. I can replicate the issue when I click Library Manager > "Check for updates"

The check for updates downloads an updated library json file from arduino.cc and there is some error reading the file.

There is an update for visual micro due over the next few hours which should also contain a fix.

I see you are using the latest pre-release from the forum, this is correct and the update will be published a s new post in that area of the forum.

2)

In windows you can associate file extensions to applications. It looks like .log files are associated to the adupilot mission planner. I suspect the mission planner installer associates the files.

Edit: That reply wasn't there when I was writing this. You can ignore this.

I'd like to state that I'm also getting this error and did the same exact things. Visual Studio 2017 was updated to the latest version and I uninstalled and then installed the newest version of Visual Micro.

I want to clean install Visual Micro, but it doesn't seem like that's very easy. It keeps a bunch of data cached from what I can tell.

Thank you very much for your quick response!!
Problem fixed~

For issue 2, I found your hypothesis correct, .log has a default application settings pointing to Mission Planner.
