Atmel Studio 7 and uploading code to Arduino
Nov 1st, 2019 at 5:10am

Hi,

I hope you are all having a good day. I just moved from using the user friendly environment of Arduino IDE, but I am now using Atmel Studio 7 to upload code. I wanted to use the advice of several articles and posts from various websites by creating an external tool in Atmel 7 that allows you to upload code from the Atmel 7 environment.example of the instructions I am following from various people advising the same thing.

Here are the details I have when creating the tool under extension tools

Command: C:\Program Files\Arduino\hardware\tools\avr\bin\avrdude.exe

Arguments CC:\Program Files\Arduino\hardware\tools\avr/etc/avrdude.conf -v -patmega328p -carduino -PCOM4 -b115200 -D -Uflash:w:C:\Users\mas\AppData\Local\Temp\arduino_build_20824/Physical_Pixel.ino
.hex:i

But I am getting the error: avrdude.exe: can't open config file "C:\Program": No such file or directory avrdude.exe: error reading system wide configuration file "C:\Program"

It is saying it cant access the file to execute the upload but i dont know why. Any help would be great thanks!

This forum is for the visual micro plugin for atmel studio that handles this automatically for you.

If you want to program the mcu yourself with comand line make sure you add "quotes" around paths with spaces in the name.
