Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Help with VM install for atmel studio 7

Hello,
I downloaded VM for use with Atmel Studio 7. It appears in my downloads folder as a MS Visual Studio extension but I can't install it. If i try to run it from the downloads folder it says the extension is not installable on any currently installed products. Any help much appreciated.

Try the vs installer from the LATEST post here

or install from inside the ide "tools>extensions and updates"

thanks, the link worked in as far as I downloaded something that will install. However, all the menu options are greyed out bar one which allows me to buy the product. Do I need to do that as the next step?

Presumably the free version for casual users is no more ?

Hi,

Your should see a "start full trial" button which gives a 30 day trial.

Sorry the free version is no more because of the support overhead.

the nag screen has shown the free version as no more for quite a long time. You will see in our twitter feed it being discussed. The latest update simply enforces it but the price is much reduced.

The installer issue you had is because your later visual studio install changes the microsoft installer settings that atmel also use. Installing from tools>extensions and updates inside the ide, is normally unaffected by the issue. But you got the more recent version which support arduino 1.8.10 so all good.
