I have just installed Visual Studio 19 with Atmel Studio 7 and Visual Studio 17 previously installed.

I downloaded the VisualMicro VS addin and it failed with the errors listed in the attached file.

Can you advise what I should do to fix this please?

The Atmel studio installer messes with the visual studio extension installer. Either install from within the IDE via "Extensions>Extension Manager" or right click the downloaded .vsix file and "Open With" > "Visual Studio Version Selector"

Thanks for that advice it worked.

I noticed that only VS2015 was showing up in the apps list I didn't have it installed so I guessed it was Atmel causing the trouble.

Having got used to Atmel Studio 7 it'll take some adjusting. One of the reasons for changing was Atmel Studio 7 seems to running slow.

Atmel Studio 7 is based on the VS2015 shell. Sounds like repairing AS7 might fix.

There is also a new release of visual micro for as7 in the releases section of this forum which is not related to the slowness but has other fixes and additions.

Thanks Tim.

The slowness started happening after they recommended an up grade and there hasn't been another.

Recommended atmel or visual micro upgrade?

It takes time to get new releases published to the atmel gallery. The latest is here.
