Hi

It is possible there is a dll missing from your installation. Please follow the guide above in the yellow box so that we can see the version(s) you are using.

Thanks

Thanks for sending the info. I suspect that a virus checker or other malware software has made a false positive and prevent some of the visual micro dlls from being installed. We run paid virus checkers so the software is safe and has many installs.

You can either uninstall and then reinstall Visual Micro but this time trying to disable whatever is installed that causes this issue or update to the latest release which is not yet in the gallery. The update is same as uninstall/reinstall but one less hop.

Have completely uninstalled and reinstalled Visual Studio 2019. But the problem remains. When I start Debug, Visual Studio crashes without any message.
Then I installed Visual Studio 2017 and Atmel Studio 7. Here everything works.

Can you confirm the DLL is beneath the current extension directory shown in the vMicro > General > Global Options > (Scroll to bottom) Assembly Location?

Would it be possible to ZIP the whole Extension, from vMicro > General > Global Options > (Scroll to bottom) Assembly Location, and send it over via Email?

Ah, its likely due to the executable content of the package.

Do you have an alternative way to share the file with us (One Drive / Google Drive / DropBox etc.) ?

Thanks for the Dropbox files.

Does this improve if you run Visual Studio as an Administrator?

Can you also confirm the below dll is present on your machine?
C:\Windows\System32\mscoree.dll

Thanks for confirming.

Can you also confirm what happens when running the below checks?

1) Enabling the [vMicro > Debugger > Monitor Analog Pins] option, Build & Upload, and check if the Analog Chart Control loads?
2) Once the Serial Debugger has started, on the Serial Monitor Window, in the top right there is a Settings Cog, Click this Menu > Other Windows > AGauge Example.  This should load a demo window of Gauges.
3) Can you confirm what Anti-Virus / Malware software you are running?

to 1.) a message window appears, see "AnalogPinDebug.PNG", no plot window.
to 2.) sometimes the "AGauge Example" window appears, but mostly not. VisualStudio always crashes afterwards.
to 3.) I use the "windows defender".

Thanks for confirming, and the detail.

Would it be possible to run the below command via command line and attach the output as a text file? (this is just confirming the .NET Versions installed)
Code
Select All
reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Net Framework Setup\NDP" /s /v Version

Would it be possible to complete the below trace using SysInternals Process Monitor, and email us the resulting PML File;
  • Get @Plot Sketch ready and built.
  • Download ProcMon and extract to a location on your PC, run the EXE
  • Add a filter "Process Name" equals "devenv.exe"
  • Enable all event Types:
  • Perform the Build/Upload as normal, and wait until the error happens.
  • Then in ProcMon > File > click Capture Events to stop capturing.
  • Finally you can export the PML results file from the File Menu with the default options.
