Visual Studio - Visual Micro and Atmel-ICE ?

Hi, trying to decide whether to use Visual Studio or Microchip Studio with Visual Micro I saw the page:
https://www.visualmicro.com/page/User-Guide.aspx?doc=Getting-started-which-IDE.h...

Visual Studio seems to perform better than Atmel / Microchip Studio, but it clearly says:

...plan to switch to the professional development options offered by Atmel, like hardware debugging using JTAG -> Use Atmel Studio.

Is this still true with the latest releases?
I want to debug with Atmel-ICE connected with JTAG.

Thank you
Livio

Visual Micro now supports JTAG/SWD Debugging for a variety of probes and boards, and we will update this information.

SAM Debugging (Includes Atmel ICE): https://www.visualmicro.com/page/SAM-Debugging.aspx
Debugger Support: https://www.visualmicro.com/page/DebuggerSupportList.aspx

{See the GDB Debugging Section of the Documentation Page, and our YouTube Videos for Debugging}

What board are you looking to Debug in VS with Visual Micro, using the Atmel ICE?

Are boards that I designed, but they use the same CPUs as Arduino cards: ATmega2560, ATmega4809, SAMD21 etc. So I can use Arduino's libraries to facilitate my work.
It's very important to me to be able to use advanced debugging with Atmel-ICE and an IDE more powerful than Arduino IDE.
I will use Visual Micro to import some examples and all the library from Arduino-IDE, now in Microchip Studio, but i'm considering switching to Visual Studio.

So I'm happy to know that Atmel-ICE is supported in Visual Studio ... I will try.

Thank you
Livio
