Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Multiple identical entries for the same boards in Visual Micro drop-down list

Hi all,

I use Visual Micro with Visual Studio from many years; in Visual Studio 2019 Pro I note that the combo box with the boards list in the Visual Micro toolbar lists many times the same board and this happens for many support packages.

As an example, I installed the MightyCore v. 2.0.8 support package which declares support for 30 boards; however in the board combo-box, besides the first 7 distinct boards, 23 identical entries named just "MightyCore" appear. This doesn't happens in the board list of Arduino IDE: there are only 7 distinct boards (see the screenshots in the attached pdf).

The same problem arise with other support packages, like the ATTiny Microcontrollers v.1.0.2 and the Adafruit Boards v.1.4.13 (see screenshots).

Updating the support packages doesn't solve the problem, as well as unistalling, manually cleaning the residual files in the C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Local\Arduino15\packages folder and then reinstalling the support package.

Can I know if this is a known problem and, if yes, if there is a solution?

This should now be resolved in the latest release (21.01.06.3), available at the top of the board below:
