Learning Debugging as its invaluable as you develop more complex applications, as there will always be a point where it doesn't work, and you cant work out why without looking into the code as it runs. This is where the power of debugging comes in, allowing you to step through your code line by line, or stop at a particular event, as well as view the values of variables and IO pins as the program runs.
With Visual Micro you can use the Serial Debugger on virtually any board, without any extra wires, allowing you to start debugging right away. With Charting capabilities, and data tracking features it can also be used to create a quick UI, or to help calibrate your new sensors, so getting to grips with these tools now will save you a lot of time in the future!
There are also more advanced GDB Stub and External Hardware debuggers available for most boards, allowing for a deeper debugging experience, but with additional wiring and complexity.
Interrupts allow you to create timers and detect pin changes, without having to worry about what other code is running at the time. As your program grows it often starts to miss real world events, or your LED flash timer is getting less accurate the more code is added to the project... with Interrupts these become problems of the past.
