Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

What should the serial viewer default max text length be?

Currently the serial viewer max length is 10k which causes text to be truncated in 1k chunks

This is configurable via Tools>Options>Visual Micro>Communications

Problems

1. Truncating the text of a textbox is quite slow
2. Text boxes containing large amounts of text hog memory and cause the application to slow

In our tests it appears that a 100k limit seems to work better, causing text to be truncated in 10k blocks

What do you think? Can you please experiment and let us know your conculsions. Thanks
