Serial monitor scrolling

If I uncheck the scroll checkbox on the monitor, output continues to scroll past.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm using VS2008, it is perhaps an issue just with VS2008?

ahhh! i thought it was done but i forgot what a pain the microsoft textbox is.

It seems impossible to prevent it from resetting its position when text is added and when frequently adding text such as serial data, scrolling and clicking is impossible.

In v24 please try a solution...

If you switch off AutoScroll serial data is buffered and not added to the textbox allowing you to scroll and work with the text in the textbox.
When AutoScroll is switched back on, the buffered text is flushed to the display.

v24 should be posted later today/tomorrow

I'm really impressed with the changes to the serial monitor in v24. Fixed pitch font, remembering output between programming cycles and a scroll button that works.

Thanks again.

You might want to post a new thread when a new version is out.

You might even want to create a separate board / sticky post for reporting new versions?

That way new users can instantly see the work is being done and new versions are coming out?

I only discovered you'd released a new version because you'd replied to my message.

I only send forum members messages a few times a year but codeplex updates and minor enhancements happen more often.

I forgot to point out that if you want an email for every codeplex update then you can sign up to codeplex and use the notifications checkbox below the downloads box and follow the project so that it appears in your "Following" list.

There are some minor but useful serial viewer changes due on codeplex shortly
