Unable to find "Micro Debug Reporting" project properties...

Hi !

I installed both Arduino 1.0.1 for Visual Studio (1208.19) and VisualMicroDebugUpgrade.msi.

I have "?" sign near to arduino boards list, but I can't find where to switch on  "Digital Pin Report" from the "Micro Debug Reporting" project properties.  I can't find this on project properties. Am I looking on wrong place ?

Yes it is confusing. vs has two areas it calls project properties. One is called "Properties Window" and one is called "Property Pages".

You need the "Properties Window"

Select the project node in the solution explorer and press F4 or "View>Properties Window"

The Properties Window is shown bottom right of this image. Above the properties you can see the project node is selected.

Tip: The image below could be better. The a-z view of properties isn't the best view. Click the button to the left of the a-z for a grouped view. Non-debug (standard) vm properties will be easier to see

Oh sorry the name has changed since publishing that snippet.

"Report Digitals" is the one to use.

btw: yes we are in beta at the moment and I haven't had time to create screenshots. I would welcome some help Smiley Feel free to ask about anything you need.

by the way have you read the beta note about switching off library optimisation in  "tools>options>visual micro>compiler"?

It's very important if using the debug stuff, otherwise you might encounter compile errors.

I'm moving this thread to the debug section so that users of the standard tool don't get confused

Hi there,

maybe I missed something during the installation but I can't find the debug setting in my project properties.

Also in the serial monitor tool the button with the debug symbol is disabled. So it seems to me that the installation of the debug tool didn't wok correctly. How can I check whether the installation worked correctly? Is there any way to check the registry or configuration files?

Thanks a lot, Alf

Alf, please create a new thread so the user who created this thread doesn't get lots of unwanted emails. I look forward to asking you some questions in a new thread. Thanks
