Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Unable to load a debugger extension

I�m new in this community.
In properties window Report digital is TRUE
I get the message: "Visual micro was unable to load a debugger extension Assembly: C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Micro for Arduino\Micro Extensions\Debugger VisualizationsExample\bin/DigitalPinsExample.dll
Type: VisualizationExamples.DigitalPinsControl
Could not load file or assembly 'Visual,Micro.Debugger.Data.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.3, Culture=neutral, ..... The sytem cannot find the file specified."
I have restarted the computer, and reinstalled both the debugger and Visual Micro for Arduino.
The file specified is there, so what am I doing wrong?

The extension is a dll that is installed into c:\windows\assembly. This error means that it hasn't been installed or an old version exists. 

Please confirm which version of vm you have installed. Tools>options>visual micro>version

Hi, the debug install instructions tell you to download the latest version of vm from codeplex. Please do. This error is because the debug upgrade that you have installed is for the latest version of vm (1211.04).

The debug instructions also suggest following us on codeplex or registering for new release notifications in the "new releases" board of this forum. This will allow you to know when a new version becomes available.

The information messages at the top of all boards in this forum also suggest that you switch on "Email Notification" so that you are informed by email when people reply to your questions. 

I know there is a lot to read for both vm and arduino but this information is to help you and save me time.

Please switch all of these things on so that you stay up to date and informed.
