Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Debug not available VS2012 Win 8

Installed Win 8, VS 2012, Arduino. Downloaded 1211.04 and installed with no errors. Downloaded the latest debug installer 3.3 and installed with no issues.

There appears to be no debugger installed, the VM option appear under the Tools Options, but the Compiler Debug Configuration has no toggle. I can type in True.?   

Debugging brings up no debug message boxes and the only option available in the output window is Micro Build, not trace etc.

Hi there, you are looking in the wrong place. That debug option is not part of the debugger it provides a different function for the std plugin and is of no use in this case.

For the debug instructions please watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFM8_RhIG0U&feature=g-upl, see the "Debugger" page at the top of the main vm site and after watching the video that please see the wiki for more info

Oh, I'll look out for that but I still think you have forgotten how it works. You need to find the F4 project properties and switch on (Micro Debug). The configuration toggle is on the main visual studio tool bar not in the Tools>Options. There are no Tools>Options for the debugger  Smiley

Okay I see your email, click on the project name "Blink" in the solution explorer and press F4. The properties tool window should appear?

Back to not working, pressing F4 does nothing, no properties window appears. Only property window that appears is if I right click and select properties, but that does not bring up the VM property window that I was familiar with before.

View>Properties Window or View>Other Windows>Property Window

It's also F4 on all my versions of VS but you can assign function keys to whatever you want via the vs Customize system
