Hi, the picture shows opening a single example code file and not an entire project so I can only comment on that. The file seems to have loaded but the tab looks strange, can you float the "ArduinoreadSerial.ino" tab to see if this is a size issue with your vs windows?

Vs can sometimes get confused with its UI and has a "Reset" option however I have never needed to use it. If floating the tab doesn't show the code then we will look at that.

To test opening a project you need to close the empty solution "File>Close Solution", then open an example by clicking the example name shown in Blue

When you click the blue example name you will be prompted to "Copy/Clone or Open", select the copy option then you can hack an example without loosing the original (your choice)

So without a solution open what happens when you open a project/sketch/example?

i found the problem. Silly mistake on my part:  VC++ was not installed, only VB and V#.

Funny, nowhere on the visual micro site could i find the pre-requisites?

Hi, yes pre-requisites are on the codeplex download documentation tab, a little hidden away.

We need a complete re-vamp of download site and documentation

Glad its sorted and thanks for the picture, it will help others

thanks for the project. this is life changing, i avoided arduino projects up until now simply because their text editor was so lacking , specifically so many of the features we are used to in VS like "find all references" were unavailable with the rudimentary arduino search box.
