Trial license key

Recently, I installed Atmel Studio 6.1 and Arduino for Atmel Studio. Then, it displayed a pop-up window about try or buy the optional Arduino USB Serial debugger. I clicked 30 day trial button, and I got a message " Error: The remote server returned an error (403) Hardware has been activated too many times for this key". So, I pressed cancel button.

I found similar problem with me in this forum.

I tried same operation, but I got same result, too.

How can I activate 30 day trial?

Thanks for linking the original post. I have updated it.

This problem has been encountered by a couple of people. It is resolved in 1305.21+ on codeplex. It is currently in the "DOWNLOADS>Visual Micro for Arduino Beta Channel".

Other users: After applying .21 you will need to email info [at] visualmicro.com (or pm admin) to request a new trial key.

Thank you for your answer.
I install Arduino for Visual Studio and Atmel Studio (1305.21) and I can activate 30 day trial.

I can understand why I could not activate 30 day trial. I previously installed Arduino for Atmel Studio from Atmel Studio 6.1(Tools>Extension Manager). This version is 1305.8. Perhaps, a couple of people might install Arduino for Atmel Studio by same operation with me.

Good to hear it is working and thanks for the update.

You make a reasonable point however the problem has only affected a few people and it is a real pain to upload an update to the atmel gallery. You did the right thing installing from the gallery and then applying the update. In future you will be prompted when a new update is available and it will be okay to take it from visualmicro.com or the atmel gallery.

Thanks again
