Hi

Okay so you see a message saying that the "upload using port x" is happening but nothing happens? Is this a correct problem description?

Questions:-

Which version of Visual Studio?
Which version of Visual Micro (see tools>options>visual micro>version)
Which version of windows?
Are you using a standard usb cable or a serial/usb converter?

Thanks

yes, this is it ... "Uploading to I/O board using COM3" but nothing happens.
even the RX/TX led don't blink.

visual studio 2010 version 10.0.30319.1
visual micro 1.1305.09
windows 7 x32
standard usb cable (works fine with arduino IDE)

Thanks for the info. Sorry I forgot to ask which version of arduino you are using?

Does it work if you disconnect and then rec-connect the usb cable?

I tried arduino 1.0.2 and 1.0.5
if you mean to disconnect and reconnect again before the upload, It doesn't work.

Thanks for the update. We will investigate over the next few days to see if we can reproduce the problem or provide some config options that might alter the time between a couple of operations involved with the upload.

In the meantime please open the arduino ide and switch on "File>Preferences>External Editor". This will allow you to have the sketch open in both Visual Studio and Arduino at the same time. When you click upload in Arduino it will read the latest changes from Visual Studio (last saved) and upload.

I will let you know when a new version if ready for test and how to "tweak" the config to try different timings. It will be a simple setting.

Thanks

Okay thanks for the update. It will be interesting to see if the timing change affects things. Strange that so many can upload without issue and that only one or two people are affected by this. Especially when the op sys is the same.

Having re-compared the arduino ide code with visual micro...

In the Arduino Ide there was a 100ms delay in the routine that forced the Arduino to reset prior to upload. This delay was shorted in the Visual Micro code but has been corrected to match the Arduino Ide code for the next release.

Please follow the project on our codeplex download site so that you get an email when the next release happens.

I think this will fix the problem for you but there are also some additional config properties in the next release which I won't publish unless they are needed for testing. The idea being we just do what the Arduino Ide does and keep things clean and simple.

Thanks again for the report
