I have split your question into a new thread because it's impossible to get clear answers to questions when more than one user uses a thread. The title of the thread was very useful either I will remopve the auto generated off-topic link left in the previous thread shortly. It's not really off-topic.

So first question is did you close vs, run the visual micro installer and click "remove" then run again and click "install". It's a quick procedure.

What version of arduino and are you using and do you have an tool bar showing applications and a list of boards?

Do you have a "tools>addin manager>visual micro entry". Are the first two checkboxes checked?

Do you see "tools>visual micro>reset user interface"? If you click it vs should close and re-start.

Hopefully the answers to the questions will provide a solution or a clue to the problem. Vs 2013 should be working okay since the 14x release.
