Visual Micro + Atmel Studio 6.2 question

WIndows 7 Atmel Studio 6.1 + Visual Micro + Arduino 1.0.5 + Teensyduino for Teensy 2 (AVR) and moreso Teensy 3.1  ... is all working fine. Love it.

Changing to Atmel Studio 6.2 and new version (?) Visual Micro, will the above still work? Can't use Arduino 1.5.x.

Hi,

Thanks for the question. Yes Visual Micro in Atmel 6.2 supports everything that was supported in 6.1.

Visual Micro supports both old and new Arduino versions and custom hardware configurations, the configuration is the same so Teensy and 1.0.5 continue to be supported.

I should install 6.2 then upgrade Visual Micro. Otherwise you might have to click "remove" in the Visual Micro installer the run the install for the add-in to load in 6.2. (Either way it is painless and your settings will be  preserved)

thanks... Is there a summary of new features in 6.2 that are relevant to using Visual Micro? And as well, for the new version of Visual Micro for Arduino and Teensy users?

To help decide on whether or not to update to 6.2.

The latest Visual Micro version is an update for all VS version and AS6.1/6.2. There are no Visual Micro features that are dedicated to Atmel Studio 6.2

There is nothing in Atmel Studio 6.2 that I have seen that would be any different for you.

I recommend you always take the latest Visual Micro version and do not confuse that with using the latest version of any Ide.

There is always a summary at the bottom of the beta download page and also in the new releases section of the forum but there are always good reasons such as bug fixes to upgrade Visual Micro  Smiley
