Atmel Studio + Visual Micro + chipKIT Max32 board

I have installed Atmel Studio 6.1 & Visual Micro 1.1401.26.  I can open an Arduino sketch in Studio & all looks fine ( I can't run any examples because I don't have an Arduino board...)

The question is "Can I use my chipKIT Max32 demo board with Atmel Studio 6.1 & Visual Micro?"

I noticed on the Visual Micro website that this is possible, but the example video is using Visual Studio, not Atmel Studio...

Any suggestions?

Hi Don,

Unfortunately Pic and Atmel are competitors so we don't allow ChipKIT in Atmel Studio.

So it is a paid version of VS only I'm afraid unless you qualify for a free ms license.

Sorry it is not clear. It is stated in a few places on visualmicro.com

I don't know if you are planning a start-up business for your resulting project but if so then maybe this is way to get Vs Pro. I am no expert but as ling at you are in startup mode and/or your new business is less than 5 years old and turning over less than $1m you might well get approved for Microsoft Biz Spark.

Oh and for your planning/startup you can buy a domain name for a few dollars per year which is very handy for professional email correspondence with suppliers  Cheesy
