Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post

Open Sketch not working

I have recently upgraded to Atmel Studio 6.2 and VM 1.1407.10.

I wish I hadnt bothered as I haven't been able to get anything to compile since  Angry

While trying to sort this out a very strange and new issue has occurred.  I cannot open a sketch.

If I use File->Open->Sketch Project nothing happens.  I expect to see a browser window but nothing appears.  It worked when I first did the installation but since I did a VM repair installation it has stopped working.  If I use File->Open->Project/Solution then it opens the browser as expected.

I have tried uninstalling AS6.2 and VM and re-installing but I get the same problem.  I can't get to the bottom of my compile issue until I can load a sketch.

What is going on?

Hi Sorry to hear of this issue.

Please look at tools>addin manager to see if visual micro is enabled.

Please confirm if you have a tool bar with boards showing?

Please report your visual micro version number in tools>options>visual micro>version

Please confirm what your sketch folder is configured to be in the Ide locations

Please confirm which version of arduino you are using?

Yes VM is enabled
Yes there is a toolbar
Version is 1.1407.10
Sketch folder OK
Arduino 1.0.5

BUT - I discovered that the toolbar was set to Arduino 1.5.x

Setting it to 1.0.x seems to have fixed the problem  Smiley

If you are not using arduino 1.5.x I suggest you clear the path in the Ide locations dialog. You must have set it by accident. Removing the path will remove 1.5 from the list and prevent confusion.

It also sounds like you configured the arduino 1.0 ide against the Arduino 1.5.x option which would cause Visual Micro to fail.
