installation problem with community edition

hi
ive installed sucessfully on pc with w7 now trying on brand new machine under 8.1 and get error during istall
error 1001 installutillib.dll unknown error
ive tried running vs before install.

any suggestions please

Hi,

That error is covered in the faq and will return in the search for 1001.

It means you need to enable .net 3.5 in control panel > windows features which is required because the installer also installs a version for Vs2008 on .NET3.5
