Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post
Support requests without the output above may be impossible to answer, so please help us to help you

Visual micro not installing. DLL required could not be run.

Hey guys. Recently rebooted my computer and went to install visual micro but the minute I click the icon to install get the message saying " There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for the install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor"

Was wondering if anyone else having this problem. I am currently running windows 8.1 and i am admistrator. Last time the install went smooth don't know whys its not this time.

I think this is a problem with the uninstall that happens before the install. It means the previously installed version was deleted but not uninstalled. Since we have moved to .net during the past few weeks the old install dll needs to exist.

If you install a slightly older version that should put back what you need. Then you can uninstall or install the latest version.

This is one older version from 1st may

If you still have a problem please confirm if you see a visual micro entry in "control panel>add or remove programs". Try to uninstall if that fails I will give you some dlls that should solve the issue.

Hey 

I rebooted my computer through the bios and reinstalled windows so i don't think that is the problem. I also tried the link you put up and still the same problem.  Sad

Sorry don't know what the problem would be. The installer is a std windows .net4 install that works for lots of others
