Side-by-Side VM Addin Installation possible?

Hi,

I have both vs2008 and vsc2013 on my desktop. Is there a way I can run VM version 2014 with vs2008 but also have the latest VM version hooked into VSC2013?

I ask because a Visualizer I am working on seems to malfunction with versions after the Jan 2014 release ('tip' message at the start).

Or perhaps there is a way to suppress the starting "Tip" message?

Thanks,

Stockvu

Hi,

We can probably get it working but what do you mean about the starting tip message?

Can you post what you mean? Image/Text?

Thanks

Hi,

I didn't have a ready snapshot and I forgot the 'tip' message content. I was forced to install to get it back.

I tried installing 1.1505.19 side-by-side using a slightly different path, but both IDE's were not aware of it. I uninstalled and re-ran its installer -- this time allowing it to overwrite the default path.

Now I can again see the starting 'tip' message appear in the Serial Monitor Window. It reads as follows;

-------------------------------------------
tip: if your hardware does not support auto-reset and was already running when the debugger was launched then send the 'c' char using this window to force the 'current' breakpoint to continue. After that F5 or the Green tool bar arrow can be used to step between breakpoints as normal.
-------------------------------------------

When using version 1.1505.19, this message appears on my vs2008 and vs2013 twice, once before I see initial data from the Visualizer -- and again after the initial data from Visualizer. This forces me to back scroll to see what was sent. And doing that becomes quite tedious when developing.

QUESTION:
IS there any way to suppress this message being sent to the Serial Monitor??

I have reverted to version 1.1401.07 for now.

Thanks,

Sorry Tim,

Its not the Visualizer sending initial data, its a Sketch on my Mega2560. I apologize for making such confusing statements.

I see thanks.

You can switch off tutorial mode by un-ticking "tools>visual micro>tutorial mode".

Then you won't see any tips  Smiley
