Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post

Atmel studio 6.2.1563 crashes after visual micro installation-FIXED

That's it. Any ideas? It crashes at startup. 
Platform win 7 64 bit.

Where di you download visual micro from? Atmel gallery or visualmicro.com?

if you need a quick fix then rename the "Visual.Micro.Visual.Studio.Arduino.AS6.AddIn" file in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Visual Micro\Visual Micro" for Arduino to "Visual.Micro.Visual.Studio.Arduino.AS6.AddIn_off"

Hi, i have downloaded the file from visual micro site, the "latest" one. Now when i change the extension, Atmel Studio starts without a crash but nothing happens. 
When i go to security/add-ins and add the path of visual micro "blah-blah\\Visual Micro for Arduino\Addins\AS70" and restart Atmel studio, it crashes again...

I have Arduino IDE, 1.6.5. (it works right). 

Atmel Studio is 6.2.1563.

Visual Micro is the "download latest".

You don't want to use addins\as7 that is not for Atmel studio. Why did you feel the need to do that? What do you mean by 'change the extension'

Did you download from the gallery initially?

I have downloaded the visual micro from visual micro site initially. I downloaded it again now and i experience the same problem. 
I thought to add the AS70 folder for Atmel studio to find it.  
If i don't do that Atmel studio works ok but nothing happens at startup. ( i don't get any setup screen for visual micro"

When i say change the extension i mean to follow your tip to rename the Visual.Micro.Visual.Studio.AS6.AddIn to Visual.Micro.Visual.Studio.AS6.AddIn_off, so Atmel studio to start without crash.

Please run installer then click uninstall and then install from the Atmel gallery. Thanks

OK, that worked. Thank you. 
Now Atmel Studio and visual micro are working and i was able to setup the visual micro, select the ide, the board and the com port. 

Ok thanks it works ok. Sorry for the mess!

Yes this means you ticked tools>visual micro>upload using programmer

You don't want that option so untick

info: a programmer is another bit of hardware or software that performs an alternative upload. Normal Arduino upload use does not involve s programmer, just usb or wifi (yun).

Info v1507.25 is now beta

The release on visualmicro.com has been reverted to the previous stable version. 

The last version is now shown as the beta download The beta still contain the crash for some users. If anyone gets the startup crash  then please try to click "Debug" or "More Info" and post any detail. Thanks!
