Before logging an issue, please update to the latest release of Visual Micro from the Downloads Page.

When Logging a Support Issue in the Forum, please ensure you have also:-

  • Enabled vMicro > Compiler > Show Build Properties
  • Re-Compile your program with these settings enabled
  		Save the new Output to a Text File and....
  • Click the Reply button and attach as .txt file OR
  • Click here to Email us with the file attached, and a link to your post

Atmel studio 6.2.1563 crashes after visual micro installation

Can I get some clarification on this, please. 
Which version is fixed one ? 
I am getting the startup crash so where do I click "debug" or More info" 
It started crashing after I added / enabled option security path to \Program files \Visual Micro.

OK I downloaded 1508 , now for 64$ question - 
how do I CHANGE the option to the new download when AS crashes AKA I cannot do anything in AS!!! 
O I know - uninstall Cry and reinstall AS , right? Cry

No you never need to touch your as6 install.

You can simply un-install visual micro from control panel or apply the version from our download page that says "previous stable"

OK I went back to "previous " release. 
Still wonder why the post did not say  use previous instead of confusing the issue about "beta" was fixed.

Needless to say - still cannot build any Arduino projects in AS. Hope I can find out what I missed soon.   
AS seems to be much slower waking up as it was year or so ago.

Hi,

I hoped it was fixed, so far many people using it but 3 reports of a crash. With the release of vs2015 and imminent release of AS7 and recent huge changes in arduino for 1.6.2+ I have been busy. The good news is that vs2015 doesn't support add-ins so Visual Micro has been converted to an Extension which are a whole lot more reliable and we also don't have to worry about additional problems with installers.

The vs2015 extension is now the recommended route and I will shortly move As6, Vs2010-2013 also to extensions. So I am not running to fix the add-in because the point of extensions is to leave behind these fiddly issues.

Having said that I will find the crash within the next week or two but it's better for most users to be on the up to date version. It might be the crash would go away by running vs once with the /resetaddin command documented on visualmicro.com but can't be sure.

If you are having compile problems you can report your arduino version, board type and the compiler output in verbose mode to a new thread which can be reviewed.

I was consistently getting " system cannot find the file" and the project would not build. 
After trying to find which file cannot be found (if it cannot find it why it cannot say the name of it in error report ?) I ended up with "missing" 8 bit AGC tool. 

When I uninstalled AS I was trying to save some time and elected NOT to uninstall  the 8 / 32 bits AGC stuff. 
So when I reinstalled AS it did not reinstall these tools and now it cannot find them. 
Life is great. Back to full install of AS.

This crash has been resolved in the latest release 1508.14 Sp3
