I've been trying all evening. I just can't get Visual Micro to be accepted as an addin on AtmelStudio.
Tried adding it through "Extending AtmelStudio"
Tried using the ArduinoForAtmelStudio msi with ide off.
In the default path C:\Program Files\Visual Micro\Visual Micro for Arduino\
I've added this to Add-In security list.
Removed then installed again and again.......
Not fun any more.

I can only think it might be Windows10 that's the issue. Now how do I uninstall this AtmelStudio pile of software??

It's a shame some people are having this problem while so many others not at all.

Can you confirm exactly what path you have entered into the addin/security locations list and also if there is a visual micro entry in "tools>add-in" manager (if so which checkboxes are checked?)

The Add-in 'Visual Micro Arduino' failed to load or caused an exception.
Would you like to remove this Add-in?
If you choose yes, the file it was loaded from, 'C:\Program Files\Visual Micro\Visual Micro for Arduino\Visual.Micro.Visual.Studio.Arduino.AS6.AddIn', will be renamed.

Error Message: The system cannot find the file specified.

It appears in the Add-in manager after it's first run but disappears after it throws up the error message.

Okay I will check the build
this could be a problem with Atmel studio from Fridays build.

I will split your messages into a new thread so the original user can discuss different things

Seriously though, how do I get rid of this Atmel Studio and all the rest of the Microsoft Visual Studio stuff that came with it?

Same way you do all programs. Via control panel add or remove programs

Sorry you got caught at a time.of huge changes. Vs2015 is the recommended solution because it uses the newer vs extension system instead of older addins. For Atmel the release of vm in the Atmel gallery is a stable older version that works with arduino 1.6.5 and below.

Otherwise best of luck with whatever you do
