Which ide and service pack are you using? It doesn't sound like anything vm is doing but might be related to a different vs build. I can check if you tell me more info

Thanks

Okay so you have Visual Studio 2013?

This does mean you will have been upgrading from the older addin version to the new "extension" version of Visual Micro but that shouldn't cause the problem

I searched the web and the error is reported in various cases relating to a bug in Visual Studio. By the sound of it running the repair of visual studio from control panel fixed it but that was for users who were or had applied the Vs2013 updates.

So what is the full Vs2013 version text from Help>About?

Thanks

Another question: Did you uninstall Visual Micro from "Control panel>Add or remove programs"? Having both the old addin and the new extension installed might well cause confusion.

I installed VM when the prompt told me a new version was available. This might be a clue, when VS load the 1st message I get is "Visual Micro - Unable to load a project properties extender provider"

Also if there is a way to "back out recent changes" I would like to know that.

thanks I done for today

Yes there is. When codeplex is back up you can click the DOWNLOADS button and select any except the most recent.
https://visualmicro.codeplex.com/

The prompt to upgrade also said to uninstall the previous version from "control panel>add or remove programs>visual micro", did you do that?

What is your full VS version number?

Thanks

ps: if you do install an older version the new version is uninstalled from within visual studio. "Tools>Extensions & Updates"

This issue is resolved with an install of Atmel Visual Studio. Was using Microsoft Visual Studio, this is a better fit also.

Thanks
