AtmelStudio 6.2 and 7 coexsist

Hi.
For compatibility issues i want both the AtmelStudio 6.2 and 7 version installed.
Just installed the (latest) Atmel Studio 7.0 and the VM (downloaded) from the extention meny.
The installation directory for VM was in a new directory, different from the on used for AS 6.2

1. Unfortunately this uninstalls / erases the VM for the 6.2 platform - despite different directory was chosen.
2. The new VM (intended for the AS7) is not installed on either platforms.
3. Running the repair function as described in the FAQ did't solve the issue Embarrassed

So i assume running 2 different versions of AtmelStudio it’s possible?

Regards.

Hi,

Yes they coexist without issue.

I think you missed the note in the atmel gallery that said to install for AS7 using the more information link or from visualmicro.com

Sounds like you are just installing and uninstalling the older 6.2 addin version of Visual Micro Smiley

There are two different installers. The As7 version is an extension, the 6.2 version is the older add-in format which isn't supported in As7.

The as7 version installs into a special folder below the As7 Ide. It's automatic you don't get to change the location.

Hope that helps
