I recently installed the latest updates of 2015 and VM and now when i select the serial monitor I get the dreaded BSOD.  Complete reboot.  Win 10.  Everything else seems to be working fine compile upload ect.  Its just the serial monitor.

Any clue what i have goofed up ?

Thanks
Jeff

First of all I think I would look at the usb driver and make sure it is up to date?

What's the driver for the COM port and what date/time/version etc

It's working now but still a bit strange.  The monitor worked from the arduino ide but not under 2015.  I uninstalled arduino and installed 1.6.6 and everything works fine now. The driver was the arduino usb driver.

Working is good so I will just be happy with that.

Thanks for the update.

Yes strange.

The driver is installed by the arduino ide. Visual Micro uses C# and the arduino uses java. Sometimes there are small differences but not usually a crash or no connect.

Hope it continues correctly
