Problem with ESP8266 OTA Updates

I'm trying to get OTA updates to work with Visual Micro. I have it working with the Arduino 1.6.7 IDE just fine, using version 2.0 of the ESP-8266 Arduino support. When I look a the serial list in the Arduino IDE, I see one with the IP address for my ESP-8266 board (NodeMCU 1.0).

However, when I look at the serial port list in Visual Micro, I only see physical serial ports. I just updated to the latest version of the VSX today, so I'm running 1601.31.0 of Visual Micro.

Any ideas on how to get this to work?

Thanks,
  -- John

Hi,

First question is too see if upload is working okay. Manually add the ip address to the project property called "Upload Port" then try uploading.

Yes, entering the IP address works. Thanks! That will at least get me going.

Great thanks for the update.

If you want IP auto discovery you need to install Apple Bonjour Service for Windows.

Ah, good to know. I can live without the Zeroconf discovery. Thanks again--I'm a very happy customer.
