Unable to install new hardware from zip file

I have tried to install new hardware from a zip file. every time I try, an error message pops up stating;

"Unable to move hardware from temp to C:\XXXXXX"

I am running windows 8 as an admin, and the optional sketchbook location is left blank.

I am trying to install an ST-Link V2 for use with my Feather M0

Hi,

Can you please give a url to the zip and also confirm your visual micro version from "tools>extensions and updates"

Can you unpack manually into "sketchbook\hardware"?

Thanks

Also when I click the "View user hardware folder", the following error message occurs:

"An error occurred clicking this link.

The system cannot find the file specified"

Have you run the arduino ide one time since installing it?

Can you unpack the zip so that the arduino ide works with your hardware?
