Energia configuration

Hi,

New user here. I'm having trouble getting Energia boards to show up. I did a search and didn't find anything, so if I missed it please direct me to the correct place.

In the configuration manager I select Energia, enter the folder where Energia is located and it saves. When I go to select boards it gives me an error saying "Invalid ide location(s) settings".

I'm using Windows 10 32-bit Version 1607
VS 2015 Pro Update 3 with C++ installed
The install zip for Energia was energia-1.6.10E18-windows

Visual Micro runs fine with Arduino Uno. The Energia IDE runs fine by itself.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the post.

Energia released a redical new version during the past couple of weeks. There will be a new release of visual micro over the next couple of days with an update.

Currently Visual Micro supports the previous version of Energia 0017 which was compatible with Arduino 1.5. The new release of Energia is compatible with Arduino 1.6 and uses new structures introduced by Arduino over the past year.

It's good news for Visual Micro because it now works to a common standard therefore will take less time to support.

The next release of Visual Micro has a new app in the list called Energia 1.6 so you will enter the path for that Ide name instead of the older/existing Energia option which is renamed to Energia 1.5

Sorry I forgot to update this post to say that the new release of Energia is now support along with the board manager

There is a new option in the visual micro ide locations apps list "Energia 1.6"

The previous entry has been renamed to Energia 1.5

If required, it's posisble to have 1.5 and 1.6 configured pointing to each of the two Energia versions.
